Apple announced a new iPod lineup, along with a new Apple TV. Let’s take a look at them, shall we?
—

iPod Shuffle: Thank god Apple went back to the previous Shuffle design, because the 3rd gen buttonless Shuffle was a disaster. They also lowered the price to $50, which is nice.
Verdict: nice.
—

iPod Nano: Lord have mercy, Kelly Clarkson Eddie Murphy. This new design is a disaster, let’s see here:
- NO video camera.
- NO video playback (that’s right, you can’t play videos on this thing). This alone is pretty insulting, if you ask me.

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has filed far-reaching patent lawsuits against Google, Apple, Yahoo, Netflix, Facebook, AOL and eBay, among others, alleging the companies violated patents owned by his now-defunct idea lab Interval Research.
The four patents at issue allegedly cover basics of online commerce, including recommending products to a user based on what they are currently looking at, and allowing readers of a news story to see other stories based on the current one. Two other patents relate to showing other information on a web page, such as news updates or stock quotes.

Google users can now make phone calls from GMail, and this service is working in tandem with Google Chat. It would seem that the new feature is meant to compete with Skype, but this Wired article argued that it’s Facebook that Google is after, not Skype.
It made some pretty good points: “No, the real point of Google Voice inside Gmail is to keep you using and logged into Gmail, which keeps you logged into your Google account… And if you are logged into your Google account, you make it easier for Google to know what you are up to and track what you do.”

You know… I was willing to give Target a second chance after this. Because of all the backlash, Target was willing to work with the HRC to make things right.
Keyword: was. Because apparently, as of today, Target has given up.
So. As much as I love Target (and believe me, I do; I was damn happy when they opened a store close to where I’m living right now), I’m going to stop shopping there.
It sucks, but hey.
